Stopped off here for a late Sunday dinner. It's a pretty cool vibe here. TVs playing sports and nice lighting. The food was surprisingly good. The salad and the street tacos were excellent. Service was attentive and fast. They have a full bar as well and they did not skimp on the tequila in the margarita.

I lived in a Mexican neighborhood in Chicago for five years, where the only guacamole available was made by grandmothers in the back of restaurants, so my standards for Mexican and tacos are very high. Urban Cantina is the ONLY place I will order tacos from. Their tacos are extremely authentic to actual Mexican street tacos and their guac is the only one I've had in Tampa (trust me, I've searched) that isn't watered down and has actual chunks of avocado in it. I haven't actually gone in to the restaurant, because I always door dash it, but the meals show up on time and tasting great. They also have maduró plantains to boot. How can you go wrong? Highly recommend.

Delicious food, the atmosphere is great and the service was to match. Highly recommend the Tacos Barbacoa, the flavors melt in your mouth and the spice is just right. Pro tip: use the mild hot sauce for the rice and black beans and save the spicy sauce for the tacos, you won't regret it

Stopped in for an early dinner and we were not disappointed. They have a good menu and tequila selection. Ordered: guacamole & chips, chicken tortilla soup, El Rey burrito, super chimichanga, margarita & modelo. All of the food was good. Our waitress was very nice and patient with my order modifications. Would definitely recommend and return.

We ate here last night for our daughter's 19 birthday and their food was delish! The food tasted home made and the portions were perfect... the classic margarita was delish! A bit on the strong side... I didn't feel it until a few minutes later lol. If you're in the area this is definitely a place to visit. I had a late dinner with friends during the week. I got a Southwest kind of bowl which was very good. My friends also enjoyed their food. One of my friends got a margarita which they didn't enjoy but my other friend enjoyed her cocktail. I can't remember exactly what it was. The decor inside felt very Mexico inspired and the service was great at the bar!

Urban cantina is one of the best places in downtown Tampa! Their drinks and their food are both amazing and also a pretty good deal. They run a pretty plentiful happy hour as well. The staff is super friendly. We come here every Friday and absolutely love it.

Great location downtown. LOVED that they have a walk up area to the bar from the street! Friday night & we were seated pretty quickly. The Staff was friendly & pretty attentative. Four stars because their salsa isn't that great. I adore a good salsa, chip, and margarita. The margarita was well made. I had the taco trio. You can mix and match. Carne asada and shrimp. Fresh flavors & delicious. A great spot to try out.
